Somerville welcomes McDonald’s family restaurant

State Member for Hastings, Neale Burgess, today officially opened the new McDonald’s in Somerville.
The McDonald’s store is the latest addition to Somerville’s Centro shopping centre on Eramosa Road West.
Mr Burgess said: “McDonald’s Somerville already employs 67 predominantly local staff and there will be an additional 15 crew members when the restaurant eventually goes to 24 hour trading.”
Mr Burgess added: “Not only is McDonald’s bringing 82 more jobs to our local community and helping keep Somerville money in Somerville, it also continues to contribute more broadly.”
“Ronald McDonald House Charities undertake great work to provide support to sick kids and their families when they are most in need and often extremely vulnerable”.
Currently there are 275 Ronald McDonald Houses in 30 countries. This includes 12 in Australia that have helped more than 45,000 families since 1981.
Ronald McDonald House Charities have also donated more than $410 million in grants to support medical research, social services and education and the arts.
McDonald’s also offers the Charlie Bell Scholarship to the value of $15,000 to young people undertaking study to help them reach their full potential.
